Trinity

1) How long have you been a member of Boys & Girls Club of Metro Atlanta?

I have been a member of Boys & Girls Club since I was 5 years old.

2) Why is your Boys & Girls Club important to you?

Boys & Girls Club is important to me because it’s a part of what made me who I am today.

3) What is your career goal? What do you want to do, be when you grow up?

My career goal is to go to FSU or Michigan State to get a degree in criminal justice. After that, I would become a forensic scientist.

4) How has your Club supported your goals for college, post-secondary education, and career?

Anderson has helped me by having college fairs and giving me multiple leadership opportunities to set me up for my future.

5) Who has been a major influence in your life? Why?

My mother has been the biggest influence on me because she has told me about all her life experiences. She has always been there for me and I wouldn’t change her for anyone else.

6) What is a success you achieved through the support of your Club?

After my grandma died, my club helped me regain my love for basketball because after she passed away I lost myself.

7) What is a challenge that your Club helped you overcome?

My Club has helped me overcome my anger issues. When I was going through something I  took my anger out on a lot of things. If it wasn’t for Boys & Girls Club, I wouldn’t have learned how to control my anger.

8) Do you volunteer in your community or at the Club? Can you share a few examples of this?

Yes, I volunteer at my Club by participating in Precious Me, Keystone, Torch Club, food drives, baby drives, clothes drives, and Food drives.

9) Why do you believe it is important for teens to use their voice in today’s society?

I believe it’s important because everyone’s voice matters. If you don’t use your voice, keep your thoughts to yourself. your only hurting yourself. You may not think your voice doesn’t matter but it matters.

10) What are you doing, what can you do to spark positive change in today’s society?

I can convince more people to volunteer more, help out our community, and show people that hard work makes a good change.

11) What moment or moments in your Club do you believe have shaped you to serve as your Club’s Youth of the Year

The moments at Anderson Boys & Girls Club shaped me to serve as my Club’s Youth of the Year and me stepping up and showing more effort to actually participate in the program.
