This fall, Boys & Girls Clubs of Metro Atlanta (BGCMA) is excited to open the Blue Doors of the Boys & Girls Club at Dr. Ronald E. McNair Middle School!
As you may recall, during the onset of the pandemic in 2020 we decided to close our Samuel L. Jones Club after nearly 50 years in the Decatur community. We immediately began the search to open a new Club in South DeKalb.
Supported by a 21st Century Community Learning Centers grant, our new site is slated to open Aug. 15 and will serve 90 Club members from three feeder schools: Flat Shoals Elementary School, McNair Discovery Learning Academy, and Dr. Ronald E. McNair Middle School.
Executive Director Sedric Wytch, Jr. started his role July 25 and brings impressive youth development experience—with prior stints as a high school teacher, historic interpretation specialist, public speaker, and a middle school basketball and football coach.
