HAMILTON Cast and Crew Make Lasting Impact with Exclusive Theatre Workshop at Harland Club

John H. Harland Boys & Girls Club of Metro Atlanta hosted an exclusive special theatre workshop featuring the cast and crew of the renowned musical, HAMILTON on Tuesday, Feb. 13. This collaborative effort with Regions Bank Broadway in Atlanta aimed to inspire and mentor emerging talent within the local community.

The workshop, held at The Innovation & Expression Studio (T.I.E.S) within the Harland Club located at in the West End, aimed to provide students with valuable insights and hands-on experience in various aspects of theatre production. HAMILTON cast and crew members enthusiastically shared their expertise in disciplines such as singing, dancing, stage management, and set design during the session, which lasted from 4:30 p.m. to 6 p.m.

Ruben Royster, the Director of Arts & Innovation at BGCMA, expressed gratitude for this opportunity, stating, “The cast and crew of HAMILTON not only delivered a spectacular performance at the Fox Theatre but also brought an incredible opportunity for emerging talent at our Harland Club. We extend our deepest appreciation to HAMILTON and Broadway in Atlanta for their unwavering commitment to inspiring and nurturing the next generation of performers through these exclusive workshops. This marks an exciting moment for our community, and we can’t wait to witness the transformative impact it will have on the aspiring artists of Boys & Girls Clubs of Metro Atlanta.”

The collaborative effort between HAMILTON, Regions Bank Broadway in Atlanta, and Boys & Girls Club of Metro Atlanta underscored the importance of fostering artistic talents within local communities. The workshop not only enriched the students’ understanding of theatre but also provided them with an invaluable chance to learn directly from industry professionals, leaving a lasting impact on the aspiring artists of Atlanta.

Marlon Montgomery, VP Youth Development at BGCMA stated, “We’re super excited to have a few of the representatives here from some of the actors to some of the audio engineers; even the music director has joined us today to really talk about what they do and about how their production came to be. Our youth are excited, our teens are excited and they’re going to get a chance to ask some of the questions that they have.”
