On March 4, Boys & Girls Clubs of Metro Atlanta’s College & Career Readiness Program took 30 teens to the 19th Annual Black College Expo, hosted by National College Resources Foundation (NCR).

There were over 85 Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) present, along with various branches of the United States Armed Services.  The event also included College 101 and financial aid workshops.

College and universities offered on-the-spot band auditions, admissions and scholarships. Two members from our Grant Club participated in these auditions and earned multiple college acceptances and band scholarships based on their exceptional musical performances.  Five seniors received college acceptances and scholarships as well.

2 members received band scholarships with college acceptances and about 5 for college acceptances, not including the band recipients

“I am very proud of them and excited for all of our members in attendance to have this exposure and success as they navigate their college journey,” said College and Career Readiness Program Director Dr. Anna Jones.
