Celebrating Afterschool Professionals Appreciation Week: Recognizing Club Heroes

Celebrating Afterschool Professionals Appreciation Week: Recognizing Club Heroes
April 26, 2024 BGCMA

From April 22 to April 26, 2024, Boys & Girls Clubs of Metro Atlanta (BGCMA) joined the nation in observing Afterschool Professionals Appreciation Week (APAW), a dedicated time to honor, appreciate, and advocate for the individuals who tirelessly work with young people during out-of-school hours.

Extensive research underscores the vital role of skilled and knowledgeable program staff as the cornerstone of program quality, significantly influencing positive youth outcomes. The commitment and effort that afterschool professionals invest daily make a profound difference in shaping the lives of children and youth. BGCMA recognizes and values the immense contributions of these professionals in positively impacting kids, families, and communities throughout metro Atlanta.

During APAW, BGCMA shined a spotlight on a select group of unsung Club Heroes, individuals nominated by their respective Clubs for going above and beyond their responsibilities to foster safe, inclusive, and engaging environments for young people. These heroes embody the core values of dedication, service, and excellence that define BGCMA’s mission.

Join us in celebrating and expressing gratitude to these remarkable Club Heroes (in no particular order)”
