Hadiyah Green wants to use her passion for the arts to inspire kids everywhere to achieve their dreams. Her experience at Decatur’s Samuel L. Jones Club is one that she cannot fully put into words. She credits her Club staff, friends, and environment for shaping her into the person she is today.
The unwavering outpour of guidance and support Hadiyah has received from her Club has fostered her niche for leadership and mentoring youth. During her time at the Jones Club, she has served as president of the Keystone Club, which teaches teens about giving back and making good choices. One of her proudest moments was coordinating an end-of-year talent show for her Club. Hadiyah’s most memorable experience at her Club has been her involvement in the dance club. This club has given her the opportunity to express herself and has opened the door to possibilities she didn’t know existed.
Currently, a senior dance major at DeKalb School of the Arts, Hadiyah plans to attend North Carolina A&T University and major in Human Resource Management upon graduation from high school.
Because of the programs and tools Boys and Girls Club has given her over the years, Hadiyah feels she’s ready to take on the next step of her education, fully equipped with the time management skills and perseverance to succeed.
Hadiyah plans to use her platform as Club Youth of the Year to advocate for the arts and the positive impact it has on youth development. She wants young people to have an outlet to express their creativity and make their voices heard.
