Dear Parents & Guardians –
I’m writing to let you know that our last day of programming at the Woolfolk Boys & Girls Club at Tuskegee Airmen Global Academy will be Friday, March 1. We will be transferring all kids and teens to the new John H. Harland Boys & Girls Club: The Innovation & Expression Studio (T.I.E.S) on Monday, March 4. For those children involved with Boys & Girls Club through CNG at Tuskegee Airmen Global Academy, programming will continue ongoing.
Many of you have been with us for some time and we know you have gone through lots of change over the last couple of years. We appreciate your patience and are so glad to welcome you back to your permanent home. We are excited to show you the new space and tell you about the innovative programming that will take place there.
In this new location, our focus will remain the same – helping kids to reach their full potential – but we will use a creative youth development approach driven by arts, innovation, and expression.
Programs will center on the following areas:
- Visual arts – with programs such as drawing, painting, printmaking, ceramics, photography, filmmaking, sculpture, textile arts, and graphic design.
- Performing arts- with programs such as theatre, puppetry, dance, music, spoken word, and public speaking.
- Culinary arts – with programs such as cooking, gardening, and overall dining etiquette.
As we make this transition, I’m happy to report you should see no gap in care for your children.
We will continue to pick up from the following schools and transport kids and teens to the Club: Cascade Elementary, Finch Elementary, M. Agnes Jones Elementary, KIPP STRIVE Primary, KIPP STRIVE Academy, Brown Middle School, Sylvan Hills Middle School, and Washington High School.
You and/or an approved guardian will be responsible for picking up your child/children from the Harland T.I.E.S Club at the end of the day.
We are proud of the staff that has served here at Woolfolk and are working to make their transition as smooth as possible. We’ve identified staffing needs at several of our Boys & Girls Club locations across the city and hope to keep as many of them in the Boys & Girls Club family as possible.
We will be hosting an Open House in late February and hope you can join us. Stay tuned for details…
If you have any additional questions about this transition, feel free to reach out directly to either me or John Reid. You can find our contact information below.
We appreciate you entrusting us with your kids and have enjoyed getting to know you and your families. We look forward to many more years working with you to help kids get college and career ready, live healthy, and build their leadership skills.
Thanks!
