Friday, August 25 was a day brimming with excitement and inspiration for middle and high school teen members of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Metro Atlanta non-profit (BGCMA). They gathered alongside Cricket Wireless’ HBCU Campus Ambassadors for an insightful College 101 session. The event offered young minds a unique opportunity to gain wisdom from college ambassadors who shared valuable advice about high school and higher education journeys.
Cricket Wireless’ HBCU Campus Ambassadors, accomplished and motivated college students, generously imparted their knowledge to eager teens. The session was filled with heartfelt conversations and essential guidance that resonated deeply with the young audience.
“Ambassadors shared their best advice about what they wish they’d known and done while in high school, such as trying various extracurricular activities & hobbies to discover their true passion, making the most of high school academics & focusing on doing your best work, and looking at colleges that have a variety of things you’re interested in,” said BGCA Workforce Readiness Director Jaleesa Jones.
The College 101 session fostered a supportive environment where teens felt comfortable asking questions and seeking guidance. It demonstrated the value of mentorship and the insights from Cricket Wireless HBCU Campus Ambassadors.
These young ambassadors proved that dedication, hard work, and a thirst for knowledge can help anyone achieve their dreams. BGCMA, in partnership with Cricket Wireless, empowers Atlanta’s youth with knowledge and inspiration, fostering brighter futures.
