Meet this month’s work besties! Community Engagement Manager Sara Wilson and Director of Special Events Anna Olson both work in the Resource Development Department.
“Having a best friend at work is so important!” said Wilson. “It helps make every day a little bit brighter and makes you love the organization even more.”
Olson and Wilson met on Olson’s first day on the job, discovering they had a lot in common, including being huge Taylor Swift fans. When asked to describe their friendship, they both agreed that they enjoy each other’s company.
“The best part about Olson is that she listens to you when you need her but also loves to just play pranks or joke to keep both work and life fun,” Wilson said.
“And one of the best things about Sara is she’s such a nurturing and comforting friend,” said Olson. “She is such a fun person to spend time with!”
One fun fact about their friendship is they are not only desk neighbors but are neighbors outside the BGCMA Support Center. Olson said having a neighbor in and out of work is “so fun to have a neighbor, co-worker, and friend who can be on a similar schedule and understand your work life too!”
Outside of work, they enjoy coffee together, talking about what is occurring in each other’s lives, and going on evening walks.
So far, Wilson said her favorite moment of being work besties is “being able to expand our friendships and have fun together at the office.”
