These Boys & Girls Clubs of Metro Atlanta (BGCMA) besties have history that predates their tenure in the Movement.
Brand/Media Marketing Manager Christin Jackson and A.W. Tony Mathews Boys & Girls Club Teen Director Anna Smith first met while attending the University of West Georgia. They were both members of Women of Diversity, a women’s empowerment organization, through which their friendship blossomed via community service projects, campus events and girls’ nights.
When asked for three words to describe their friendship Smith said: “authentic, fashionable, and trustworthy.”
Despite Jackson and Smith working in separate locations, their favorite part about their jobs is when they get opportunities to collaborate in their roles or come to each other’s work sites.
Outside of work you can catch the pair brunching, shopping at their favorite stores, trying out new restaurants in the city, traveling together, or chatting on the phone and giving each other life updates and advice.
“I’m so grateful for our friendship,” Jackson said. “Some people are in your life for a season, but I know that we’re in each other’s lives for a reason.”
