Meet Naiyauna: Youth of the Year for Chamblee Boys & Girls Boys & Girls Club

Club membership:  Joined in 2022 

Post-Secondary/Career Interest: College and working part-time at Chamblee Boys and Girls Club. Would like to be an entrepreneur, creating a bakery, restaurant, cosmetology school and afterschool/daycare.  

What does the phrase masterpiece in the making mean to you? “Masterpiece in the Making means that I am working forward to becoming a better person than I already am.” 

Why is it important for kids to use their voice? It is important for teens to use their voices because, in order for the future to get better, we should be able to state our opinions on changes. 

Short Bio: Naiyauna is a 15-year-old sophomore who says prior to joining her Club, she was hesitant in participating in activities when her close friends were not around and felt challenged in unfamiliar environments with unfamiliar people. She now credits her Club with helping her be more outgoing and improving her social skills. After graduation, Naiyauna plans to attend college and work part time at the Chamblee Boys & Girls Club.
