Martinis has been a member of his Boys & Girls Club for 10 years. He says the programs have taught him a lot about responsibility, an important quality he hopes to foster in the kids he mentors every day.
Martinis says helping younger Club members is his favorite thing to do at the Club. The 17-year-old says he wants to be a role model to kids who do not have positive influences. Martinis credits staff like Ms. Janae for shaping him into the leader he is today.
“She encouraged me to do Youth of the Year.”
Martinis said Club service and leadership programs have given him the confidence to step up.
Martinis helps serve lunch and tutors younger kids.
Martinis believes good company and a good future go hand in hand.
Martinis is optimistic about his future. He hopes to be a fashion designer one day.
