Meet Mamadou: Mamadou is a 17-year-old senior at Central Gwinnett High School and a longtime member of the Lawrenceville Boys & Girls Club. He plans to attend the University of Georgia to major in political science and later attend medical school to become an anesthesiologist. Mamadou sees his Boys & Girls Club as a second home that helped him grow socially and plan for his future. As Youth of the Year, he hopes to inspire younger members to express themselves confidently and pursue their goals. To Mamadou, a “Legacy of Impact” means leaving a positive path for future generations to follow.
“The Club has implemented various programs to make sure we know what we want to do after high school. The staff at the Lawrenceville Boys & Girls Club has also influenced and given good advice on how we need to do certain things.”
