How does it feel to represent your Club as Youth of the Year? What does it mean to you? “It feels like I’m paving the way for the younger kids at the club. To me, it signifies that anything is possible if they put in the effort.”
Meet Alexander: Alexander is a 15-year-old sophomore at Heritage High School and has been a member of the A.R. “Gus” Barksdale Boys & Girls Club for four years. He plans to attend Georgia Tech and major in software engineering, with a goal of working at a tech company after graduation. Boys & Girls Clubs has helped Alex become more social and expand his vision for the future. Representing the Club means a lot to him, as he hopes to inspire younger members to believe that anything is possible with hard work. The Club has provided Alex with college visits, scholarship opportunities, and support in preparing for his future. To Alex, a legacy of impact means leaving a lasting impression on people through hard work and selflessness.
