1) How long have you been a member of Boys & Girls Club of Metro Atlanta?
I have been a member for 4 years.
2) Why is your Boys & Girls Club important to you?
They are like another family.
3) What is your career goal? What do you want to do, be when you grow up?
I want to be a mental health therapist.
4) How has your Club supported your goals for college, post-secondary education, and career?
The signed me up for this and also provided me with a job this past summer.
5) Who has been a major influence in your life? Why?
I am my own influence, I strive to become the best me by becoming a mental health therapist.
6) What is a success you achieved through the support of your Club?
Through Keystone, I successfully helped with the toiletry drive for the homeless in the Metro Atlanta area.
7) What is a challenge that your Club helped you overcome?
A challenge that my boys and girls club helped me overcome is becoming a leader. I always found directing people a difficult task, but through trail and error I find out some tips that worked for my club.
8) Do you volunteer in your community or at the Club? Can you share a few examples of this?
I use to volunteer for Boys & Girls Club by helping staff and cleaning up, which lead me to get hired for my job there during the summer.
9) Why do you believe it is important for teens to use their voice in today’s society?
As teens, we are labeled as relatable or role models to younger audiences. This helps us spread the word about topics such as mental health, or any other topics that our society needs to work on, which will eventually better our future.
10) What are you doing, what can you do to spark positive change in today’s society?
Since our generation is so heavily influenced by social media, it could be used as an outlet to spread positivity and awareness.
11) What moment or moments in your Club do you believe have shaped you to serve as your Club’s Youth of the Year
A moment that I believe brought me to become Youth of the Year is becoming Torch and Keystone president.
