Leaders In Nature’s Kingdom (LINK) recruiting day. The LINK program is a 4-year leadership development program club members learned about during their summer at Camp Kiwanis.
Brookhaven Boys & Girls Club! Saturday, September 17, 2016 from 8:00am – 5:00pm. This year’s recruitment day is by INVITATION ONLY, as you have been a recent LIT or in the Egwani Program.
BRING YOUR LUNCH – we will not be able to go out. Parents can drop you off at 8am and pick up at 5pm, they will need to come in and sign you in/out. Please eat breakfast before your arrival.
Qualities looking for in the Candidates:
Adaptability, Creativity, Enthusiasm, Aptitude to Learn, Safety Conscious, Ability to deal with peers and adults, Takes the Initiative, Dependable, Good Attitude, Leadership abilities, Desire to Learn, Social and Employment skills.
These qualities will be looked at and brought out in the activities we do on Saturday. The current LINK Members and I will make the decision and inform the clubs and candidates within five days after the workshop.
PLEASE ARRIVE ON TIME <> PLAN TO STAY ALL DAY
Agenda: Introductions, program overview, job application, resumes, interviews, new games workshop (you can teach these games at the your club), team building exercises, resume and goal setting. Hope to see you there!
MEMBER REQUIREMENTS:
- Current and active member of BGCMA
- Have transportation to & from Brookhaven Boys & Girls Club (1 weekend/month & Summer camp)
- Been a L.I.T., Egwani participant or past camper
- Have the Executive Director or club staff approval
- Desire to work and play at Camp Kiwanis
- Desire to work and teach other youth about the outdoors
- Available 1 weekend a month during school, to go to Camp Kiwanis for training and trips
- Available up to 8 weeks to work at summer camp
