Salsa, Salsa is an annual Boys & Girls Clubs of Metro Atlanta event that celebrates eating right and staying active. This event highlights our cooking and gardening programs across our organization giving youth the opportunity to create the best salsa recipe in Metro Atlanta.
Dozens of youth members put their culinary skills to the test at the Salsa Salsa event held on July 18.
Our Carroll County youth: Stephanie Cleveland, Auniray Baulding, Sierra Donar, Cameron Cruz and Yareli Hernandez created a delicious Salsa called Salsa Carib.
In preparation for the event, staff and kids at your Carroll County Club planted and maintained an expansive garden including tomatoes, peppers, cilantro and basil. They also participated in Club sessions to learn about nutrition and how to incorporate fresh ingredients into their diet.
The ingredients used were chosen to bridge a learning connection to our 2018 Kiwanis Kids Cultural Challenge country The beautiful Island of Barbados.
Congratulations to our Carroll County 2018 Salsa Salsa Super Stars!
