Boys & Girls Clubs of Metro Atlanta hosted an org-wide Cheer Showcase on April 27, at the Shaquille O’Neal Boys & Girls Club in Henry County. The event featured 10 squads and over 100 cheerleaders from various clubs, all ready to display their cheer routines. The showcase was judged by special guests Meghan and Kyndle from the Atlanta Hawks ATL Dancers.
The showcase began at 11 a.m. with squads representing Warren, Grant, AWB (members and staff), Draper, Shaquille O’Neal, William and Betty Smalls (Chamblee), Flint River, Purpose Built Price, and Harland. Each squad performed their routines, filling the gym with the sound of pom-poms and cheers.
Several awards were given out during the event:
- Best Overall: Warren and Grant Clubs
- Best Dance Routine: A. Worley Brown
- Best Spirit: Draper Club
- Best Stunts (10 and up): Shaquille O’Neal Club
- Best Club Representation: WB Small Club
- Best Cheer: Flint River Club
- Best Crowd Engagement: Purpose Built Price Club
- Best Jumps (6-9): Shaquille O’Neal Club
- Most Courageous: Harland Club
