Boys & Girls Clubs of Metro Atlanta President & CEO, Libby Saylor-Wright recently hosted
our 2026 Youth of the Year candidates for an etiquette and networking workshop at the
Boys & Girls Clubs National Headquarters in Midtown Atlanta. The workshop was designed
to help develop the confidence and social skills needed to navigate formal dining and
professional settings.
During the session, participants learned the fundamentals of proper table manners,
including place settings and utensils, napkin etiquette, proper posture, conversation skills,
and appropriate behavior at the table. They also had an opportunity to practice these skills
in a hands-on, formal dining setting.
Tatum M. from the Harland Club said, “I had never taken an etiquette class before, so I
really didn’t know what to expect. I learned a lot about table manners and how to properly
eat and conduct myself at dinner. It was actually really fun, and I feel like these are things
I’ll be able to use when I’m at college, interviews, or other important events.”
Libby noted, “The etiquette workshop and networking event is one of the many activities
that helps young people build confidence, develop essential human skills, and prepare
them for success in the classroom, workplace, and beyond.”
Libby encouraged participants to apply what they learned and continue practicing proper
etiquette in real-world settings beyond their clubs.
