“The Race Beyond the Blue Doors – Journey to Your Future” was this year’s Senior Celebration theme, as Boys & Girls Clubs of Metro Atlanta (BGCMA) gathered in person May 19 at Atlanta Metropolitan State College to celebrate the great accomplishments of BGCMA’s Class of 2022.
The night was filled with fun, fellowship and recognition as we celebrated 30 of our seniors who have now crossed the proverbial “Blue Doors” as BGCMA alumni. The program featured moving performances of “I Was Here” by The Black Bettys and “Stand Up” by our very own Chelsea Tant from the Lawrenceville Club. Guests also witnessed a compelling charge to our seniors from our keynote speaker and Civic Leader Greg Clay.
At BGCMA, our work is about helping kids & teens ignite their unlimited potential by providing safe, inclusive, and engaging environments. It is our vision that our Club members will become young leaders who are thriving in life and strengthening the future of their communities and the world.
We also celebrated recipients of our community awards – leaders and organizations that have gone above and beyond to serve our seniors through volunteerism and partnership. They have become a huge part of our BGCMA family.
Thank you to the following partners:
- Alumni of the Year – Dr. Darrell Hall
- Corporate Partner of the Year – Accenture
- Community Partner of the Year – Publix
- Proud Partner of the Year – Six Flags Over Georgia
Earning more than $50,000 in BGCMA and partner scholarships awarded at the Senior Celebration, the BGCMA Class of 2022 will embark in the world as members of the Armed forces, students in two or four-year colleges and technical & trade schools, as well as members of the workforce.
Congratulations to the resilient Class of 2022 and to the tenacious village of parents, family, mentors, as well as BGCMA & College & Career Readiness Team who have helped our seniors reach this milestone.
