How does it feel to represent your Club as Youth of the Year? What does it mean to you? “Representing the Boys & Girls Club as Youth of the Year is a profound honor. It recognizes my hard work, growth, and dedication, both personally and within the community. This role means a lot to me because it reflects the support and opportunities the Club has provided, allowing me to give back and inspire others by sharing my experiences and achievements.

Meet Camille: Camille is a 17-year-old senior at Carver Early College and a two-year member of the At-Promise – South Boys & Girls Club. She plans to attend a four-year college, with her sights set on Alabama State, Savannah State, or the University of Florida, where she hopes to study biochemistry and medicine to become a pediatrician. Mille values her Boys & Girls Club for providing a supportive environment where she has built confidence, gained direction, and found mentorship. Representing the At-Promise South Club as Youth of the Year is an honor for Mille, as it allows her to give back and inspire others. The Club has played a crucial role in helping her stay on track academically and guiding her through the college application process. Mille hopes to leave a legacy of impact by being a role model and using her future career to address social issues, making a lasting difference in her community.

“The Club has supported my goals for college and beyond in several ways. They provided access to academic resources, like tutoring and college prep workshops, which helped me stay on track with my studies. Additionally, they offered guidance on college applications, scholarships, and financial aid. Through career exploration programs and mentorship, I gained valuable insights and connections that have been instrumental in planning my future career path.”
