Club membership: 7 years
Post-Secondary/Career Interest: “My career goal is to attend either Boston University or Howard University, majoring in performing arts with a focus on acting. After graduating, I plan to pursue a career in film and television, specifically aiming to become a successful actor. I’ve been passionate about acting for years, and my inspiration came from **Avengers: Infinity War**, which solidified my desire to pursue this path. I want to portray characters that reflect my own experiences and identity, and I hope to eventually land a role in the MCU.”
Why is your Boys & Girls Club important to you? “The Douglas County Boys & Girls Club is important to me because it has given me a platform to use my voice and share my story, something I never knew I could do. The Club has shaped me into a leader who inspires others to find their voice and share their stories as well.”
How does it feel to represent your Club as Youth of the Year? What does it mean to you? “Representing the Douglas County Boys & Girls Club as Youth of the Year feels much bigger than me and what I once understood the world to be. It’s humbling to be recognized not only as a leader in the Club but also as someone who embodies the qualities needed to represent a place that has been transformative in my life and future. To me, being Youth of the Year symbolizes true leadership: someone who lifts others up when they are down, someone who sees challenges and not only promotes change but actively works to make it happen.”

“The Douglas County Boys & Girls Club has supported my college goals by inspiring me to succeed and providing opportunities to learn about college. Through programs like College and Career Bounds, I went on college tours, visiting Tuskegee University and Georgia Tech. I’ve wanted to attend Boston University since 9th grade, and my mentor helped me explore the majors and experiences there. The Club also nurtured my passion for acting and advocacy, which led me to create my podcast, A Better Endeavor, giving others a platform to share their stories.”
