We are thrilled to announce that three of our amazing former trustees are re-engaging with Boys & Girls Clubs of Metro Atlanta as Trustee Emeritus members: William H. “Bill” Rogers Jr., Carol B. Tomé, and Steve Voorhees!

These dedicated supporters have always been our cheerleaders, and we are delighted to welcome them back in this esteemed role. Their continued passion and commitment to our mission inspire us all. Please join us in celebrating and engaging with our incredible board of trustees and Trustee Emeritus members.

William H. “Bill” Rogers Jr. is chairman and CEO of Truist Financial Corporation, a purpose-driven financial services organization committed to inspiring and building better lives and communities.

Rogers was named chairman on March 12, 2022, and chief executive officer on Sept. 12, 2021, after serving as president and chief operating officer of Truist between December 2019 and September 2021. Prior to that, he served as chairman and CEO of a predecessor company since January 2012, after having been appointed CEO in June 2011. Rogers held increasingly senior positions in corporate and commercial banking, corporate finance, retail banking, private wealth management, and mortgage after joining the commercial banking division in 1980.

Rogers is a champion for the company’s philanthropy and volunteerism. He serves on the boards of several local and national organizations including the Board of Governors for the Boys & Girls Clubs of America and Emory University’s Board of Trustees. Rogers is chairman of Charlotte Center City Partners’ Board of Directors. He also serves on the advisory board of Operation HOPE Inc. and is a member of the Charlotte Executive Leadership Council.

A native of North Carolina, Rogers earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and an MBA from Georgia State University.

Carol B. Tomé is the Chief Executive Officer of UPS. She is the 12th CEO in the 116-year history of the company. Before joining UPS, Carol served as Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of The Home Depot, Inc., one of the world’s largest retailers. She joined the company in 1995 as Vice President and Treasurer.

Carol began her career as a commercial lender with United Bank of Denver (now Wells Fargo) and then spent several years as Director of Banking for Johns-Mansville Corporation. Prior to joining The Home Depot, Carol was Vice President and Treasurer of Riverwood International Corporation.

Carol serves as board member for Verizon Communications, Inc., board of councilors for the Carter Center and is a board trustee for Grady Memorial Hospital Corporation and the Atlanta Botanical Garden. She is also a member of The Committee of 200, The Buckhead Coalition, and The Business Council.

A native of Jackson, Wyoming, Carol holds a bachelor’s degree in communication from the University of Wyoming and a master’s degree in finance from the University of Denver

Steven C. Voorhees served as President and Chief Executive Officer at WestRock Company since the company’s inception in 2015 until his retirement in 2021. During his tenure, Voorhees demonstrated exceptional dedication and strategic vision, guiding WestRock through significant milestones that cemented its position as a leading provider of differentiated paper and packaging solutions.

Under Voorhees’ leadership, WestRock achieved remarkable growth, reaching $17.6 billion in sales. His strategic direction included the successful merger with MeadWestvaco, numerous strategic acquisitions, and substantial capital investments. These initiatives not only expanded the company’s market presence but also advanced its commitment to innovative, fiber-based, and sustainable packaging solutions.

Voorhees’ impact extends beyond financial success; he played a crucial role in shaping WestRock’s business strategy and fostering a values-driven culture. Admired by the entire

WestRock team for his leadership and personal integrity, Voorhees leaves a legacy of transformation and growth.

He earned a bachelor’s degree from Northwestern University and a MBA from the University of Virginia Darden School of Business.
