Diverse 2023 Cohort of Corporate and Community Leaders Bring Decades of Experience to Support the Youth Development Nonprofit’s RISE 2025 Strategic Vision

Boys & Girls Clubs of Metro Atlanta (BGCMA) is pleased to announce the Class of 2023 Board of Directors. Board members play a key role in shaping the strategic direction of the organization and working to secure vital funding to support Boys & Girls Clubs of Metro Atlanta’s 25 locations across 10 counties in and around the city.

“Boys & Girls Clubs of Metro Atlanta has an ongoing commitment to recruit, appoint & maintain Board Members who are passionate about our organization and have the relationships we need to support our mission to ignite the unlimited potential of kids & teens,” said BGCMA President & CEO David Jernigan. “We are so thankful for the counsel of each of our new Board members—who come from a myriad of industries that span real estate, entertainment and healthcare—as we work collectively towards our RISE 2025 strategic plan to serve more kids, more often, and with greater impact.”

“We are honored to welcome this exceptional group of leaders to our dynamic Board of Directors,” said BGCMA Board Chair Charlie Henn. “Each new member brings a distinctive skillset and a fresh perspective that will greatly enhance our ability to expand access and scale our programs for youth in Metro Atlanta.”

BGCMA welcomes 13 new Board Members of diverse backgrounds & perspectives, as well as expertise & skillsets. The Class of 2023 cohort includes 8 people of color, 5 women, and 8 men from a multitude of industries:

Katie Boscoe is Senior Vice President, Southeast Territory Manager for Kohl’s. Boscoe first became involved with the Boys & Girls Clubs of New Jersey as a member of its Corporate Advisory Board and has previously served as a Youth of the Year judge for Clubs in New Jersey and Metro Atlanta. Before officially joining the BGCMA board, she volunteered on the Human Resources committee, as a non-board member advisor. She holds a bachelor’s in economics from University of Maryland, Baltimore County.

Barunashish Brahma is a neurosurgeon with affiliations at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta and Northside Hospital. Dr. Brahma became involved with Boys & Girls Clubs when his daughter started a reading program at the James T. Anderson Boys & Girls Club to help bring young kids up to level. It inspired him to take the time to help in a meaningful way outside of his daily work. Dr. Brahma received a medical degree from Michigan Medical School, completed a neurosurgical fellowship at Emory University of Medicine, and has been in practice for more than 20 years.

 

Emojoy Brown is Director of LDI Client Portfolio Management at BlackRock. In addition to being skilled in projects such as asset-liability alignment, pension risk management, retirement benefits design & delivery, Brown is passionate about solving problems and helping people. Inspired by the stories of growth presented at BGCMA’s annual Youth of the Year celebration, she has supported BGCMA by volunteering in Clubs and serving on the BGCMA Fulton County Advisory Board. She received a bachelor’s in mathematics from Northwestern University and an MBA from Georgia Tech.

Justin Clay is Vice President of Communications & External Affairs at NCR Corporation, where he leads the Fortune 500 company’s global communications team and manages external affairs. He currently serves on the Georgia Chamber of Commerce Board of Governors, Board of Advisors for the Children’s Museum of Atlanta, the Corporate and Public Affairs committee for the Atlanta Committee for Progress, and Metro Atlanta Chamber Business Roundtable. He received a bachelor’s in political science from University of Georgia.

Rhom A. Erskine is Vice President, Global Diversity & Inclusion at Lockheed Martin, with responsibility for diversity and inclusion vision, strategic direction, employee engagement, and equal opportunity compliance for the enterprise and its 116,000+ employees. In this role, he works closely with the C-Suite, business area executives, HR leaders, and external partners. Rhom supports a number of community and professional organizations, including past/present Board of Directors positions with Advancing Minorities Interest in Engineering (AMIE), Clark Atlanta University School of Business, and Zoo Atlanta. Rhom holds a bachelor’s degree from Morehouse College and an MBA with a marketing concentration from Clark Atlanta University.

Abhi Golhar is a managing partner at Meridian 84, keynote speaker, and 3-time nationally syndicated radio host on the Wall Street Business Network. With a passion for entrepreneurship and reforming healthcare education, Golhar has grown seven startups, with six exits. He supports BGCMA’s mission to provide a safe, nurturing environment that helps develop young minds, cultivates leadership skills, and creates brighter futures for our community’s youth. His passion for youth development includes coaching youth soccer and volunteering for Junior Achievement. He holds an electrical engineering degree from University of Michigan.

Ivory Harris is Senior Vice President and Chief Human Resources Officer for AGCO Corporation, where she is a member of the Senior Executive team and leads the global HR organization. She is a trusted advisor with extensive experience in human capital strategy and delivering impactful, business-aligned results. Harris holds a bachelor’s in social sciences and psychology from University of Houston.

Nedra Jones is Chief Financial Officer for CDC Foundation. In this role, Jones partners with the foundation’s senior leaders and team to manage and optimize growing and diverse revenue streams, ensure fiscal efficacy, accuracy and reporting, and enhance systems and processes. Jones serves on the DeKalb Brilliance Academy advisory board and is a 2013 graduate of Leadership DeKalb. She graduated Summa Cum Laude from North Carolina A & T with a bachelor’s in accounting and is currently finishing a master‘s in law at University of Southern California Gould School of Law.

James “JP” Pulliam III is Vice President of Touring for Live Nation and Founder/CEO of Concert Logic, a live event production company bringing world-class entertainment and event experiences to communities nationwide. Pulliam sits on the board of FLUX Projects, an Atlanta-based non-profit whose mission is to connect communities through public art. He is a Morehouse College alumnus.

William M. “Billy” Small, Jr. is President & CEO of The Fountain Companies, Inc. Small is active with numerous non-profit organizations, including serving on the boards for Alzheimer’s Association-Georgia Chapter and Northside Youth Organization. Carrying on a family tradition of support for BGCMA, Small served as President of the Board of the Joseph B. Whitehead Memorial Boys & Girls Club, where his parents were long-time board members. As a youth, he spent a lot of time with the Whitehead Club’s kids. This early exposure allowed him to see firsthand the positive impact of the Club’s staff and programs on the children’s lives. An Atlanta native, he attended the University of Georgia.

Haydon Stanley is Principal at Fiveash-Stanley, consistently ranked as one of the state’s most influential government affairs consulting firms. Haydon is drawn to the reach and impact of the Boys and Girls Clubs and energized to support its important work. An active member of the Georgia Chamber of Commerce, Stanley previously served as an officer on the Board of Directors and as Chairman of the Government Affairs Council. He has served as deacon, elder and twice as clerk of session at the Newnan Presbyterian Church. Haydon is a past director of the Newnan Rotary Club, a former trustee at The Heritage School and a member of the 2002 class of Leadership Georgia. He is a graduate of the University of Kentucky.

Dara Steele-Belkin is Executive Vice President and General Counsel at Global Payments Inc. (NYSE: GPN), a leading payments technology company delivering innovative software and transaction processing services globally. The crucial support and expanded opportunities for Atlanta’s families provided by the Boys and Girls Clubs of Metro Atlanta align squarely with Steele-Belkin’s subscription to the “it takes a village” view of child raising. Steele-Belkin received her J.D. magna cum laude from Duke Law School and holds a B.A. in English, awarded cum laude from Duke University.

Michael Tabb is the Director, Corporate Real Estate for the Americas at Google, where he is responsible for real estate strategy and transactions. Tabb is an advisory board member of the University of Pennsylvania’s Institute for Urban Research, a founding member of the Real Estate Executive Council, and the Chairman of the Global Diversity Summit in Commercial Real Estate. A graduate of the U.S. Naval Academy, Tabb is a proud veteran who served as a public affairs and surface warfare officer. He is also an alumnus of University of Oklahoma’s graduate course in Organizational Behavior and Management and holds an MBA from The Wharton School.
